Invest in your relationship with yourself

Welcome to Balanced Mind Therapy where you can, with support, learn to be your true and authentic self, inside & out, and create more space for a richer and fuller life. A space where those in marginalized communities can become empowered to be their true authentic selves in the face of oppression. A space where trans and gender queer folx take up space and stay true to their identities. I am passionate about helping you on your journey to self-love and a more balanced life.

Be Vulnerable

I know how scary it can be to talk about our selves, bodies, and traumas openly and vulnerably. I work to create a safe space where you can feel less alone with your pain and more empowered in your uniqueness.

What would our time together look like?

I provide individual therapy which is centered around YOU. Occasionally partners, family members, and friends might join our sessions as you see fit.

We would start with a 15 minute consult to ensure that this feels like the best fit for both of us. We will then have 55 minute sessions every week or two where you may laugh, cry, and learn new ways to be your authentic self.

I’m Melissa (she/they) and I am a compassionate, energetic, and empowering therapist. I specialize in therapy to treat trauma, disordered eating, body image issues, and to help those with issues that come from being a minority (LGBTQ+, BIPOC, etc.) using Cognitive Processing Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy , and Dialectical Behavior Therapy from a feminist theoretical framework and view.

Through our work together you will understand and accept yourself for who you are, learn how to repair your relationship with your body, food, others, and/or society, and feel empowered in yourself.
